Leila Norma Eulalia Josefa Magistrado de Lima or more commonly known as Leila de Lima is natural born Filipino. She is further known for being a lawyer and a Senator. Today, she has been one of the most talked about personalities because of numerous controversies about her and yes, her personal life. So, here’s 10 things you should know about her that will make you love her even more!
She’s a bar 8th placer!
Yes, she passed the bar in 1985 and was among the topnotchers. She has secured the 8th spot with a total grade of 86.26%. From that, she worked her way to the country’s judiciary system. She said that being the 8th placer is one of the glorious moments of her life.
She once served on the Commission of Human Rights!
Maybe she got caught on that stage. She was appointed by the former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the Chairperson of the Commission in 2008 and has only stayed there until 2011. During that three-year term, no big progress or improvement was reported. Some said that it was due to the fact that there were no big news, ‘like this’ back then.
She is an active member of the Liberal Party!
By ‘active’, it means not just a legal member but a strong supporter of the party. Last election, she was under the party so she was bound to support and embrace the ideologies being held by the party. And that being said, it can be assumed that the ideologies or even her way of thinking, is ‘influenced’ by the party.
August is a ‘bad’ month for her!
August last year, as one would remember, the INC want her out of the Supreme Court because she has been involved in one big controversy concerning the high leaders of the religious denomination. This caused the Iglesia Ni Cristo members to protest and call her out to resign. But somehow, de Lima has managed to escape from that. Now, August this year, she has been roasted on several Senate hearings. We just guess that August is really a bad month for her. But hey! She was born, August 27. Maybe, she’s not just that lucky.
She’s fond of doing webisodes!
Like yeah! Senator de Lima kills time, not by doing significant works but by wasting time on doing some webisodes on her facebook page and other social media accounts. On her last webisode, she talked about vanilla flavored icecreams, and other silly stuff. She does that like a celebrity.
The fight of Senator de Lima is to prove that the judicial killings nowadays have taken roots way back in Davao . Motobato has been presented as witness as one of Duterte’s hired killers and one of the members of the notorious death squad or killers for hire.
Meanwhile in Congress, DOJ new chief Justice Aguire is conducting an investigation to nail de Lima as a leading protector of drug lords in Bilibid prison. UNBELIEVABLE ACCUSATION..a political mockery.
Not a big deal & definitely looked pathetic.
This is absolutely a joke!
