4) PASIG CITY
Pasig City’s total income is 5.1 billion pesos. It has the third highest income per capita of 8,816 pesos. Its total income from local sources is 4.4 billion pesos, while its tax revenue is 3 billion pesos.
Before declared as city in 1994, Pasig is considered as one of the oldest municipalities in the country, built in 1572. It is known for the Bahay na Tisa and the Immaculate Concepcion Parish (built in the 1700s).
Pasig is not only known for its centuries-old structures, but also for its highly urbanized commercial centers and residential areas. Some of its business establishments are the Tiendesitas, Ortigas Center, SM Megamall, and Metrowalk. Large corporations such as San Miguel and Meralco are located there. In 2014, this city was declared as “Selfiest City in the World” by the Time Magazine.
